Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 (NIV)

Metro and More Sightseeing and Heading to Moscow

On Wednesday, when we went sightseeing, The Church of our Savior on the Spilled Blood was closed and we could only see the outside.  My kids really wanted to see it, so we decided we would take a trip on the Metro (subway).  St Petersburg's Metro is the deepest subway in the world.
You get on this long escalator, and you can't see the bottom.
We made it though and had a good time on our little trip.
The Church is absolutely beautiful.
Every piece of art that you see is mosaic tile.
It is amazing!

Across the street from the church was a car and sword museum.  These are things Aiden wanted to see, so here are a few pics from there.

Okay, so I didn't focus on the cars or the swords.
Aiden has a few pics of those, but they are on his ipod.

After our little sightseeing adventure, we went back to our apartment and started packing up to leave St Petersburg.
On Sunday, we boarded a train for Moscow.
Our friend, Boris, took us to the train.
I wish I knew how to pack light, but with 4 people spending almost 3 weeks oversees, we have way too much luggage.  Boris took us to the train, helped us stow the luggage and find our seats.

The train ride was four hours long, but once again, you would of thought our little guy was used to this.  He has been great.

Isn't he the sweetest?

  5. It just touches my heart to see Alex being a part of a large, loving family! I wonder what his little heart & mind are thinking? It amazes me that he seems to be rolling with the punches like he has always done this! It tells a lot about his diposition.
