Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 (NIV)

Gotcha Day!!

Today our facilitator picked us up at 8:30 a.m. and we headed to the orphanage.  We picked up one of the workers and headed to the police department to remove Alex from the orphan registry.  That took about an hour and a half.  Once completed, we went to the district social workers office to drop off or pick-up papers, not sure which as I didn't go in.  Then we dropped the orphanage worker off at her house as she wasn't feeling well.

Finally we headed to the orphanage.  We carried the 4 tote bags full of electronic toys to donate to the orphanage.  The kids are going to have fun with them.

I signed a few papers and they told us that they had purchased new clothes for him.  They fed him lunch and then brought him to us.  We dressed him in the snowsuit they provided and said "paka" to all of the workers and then we were off.

I am having fun listening to him giggle as my teens interact with him.  It is such a sweet sound.  He is getting very sleepy, but not wanting to let go.  He has a bit of a cold, so pray it doesn't get any worse.

Praising God for this journey He brought us on and feeling truly blessed.

  4. Bawling right now Kathy. Oh my, you have him. You never have to take him back. You get to bring him home and love and hug on him and tuck him into bed. What a blessing. What a journey. How happy it makes me to know they cared so much about him at his orphanage. Thank you so much for sharing.

  14. Praise the Lord! So happy for you all! I think the laughter of babies/children is the best sound on the planet! Especially in this case when you know the poor little guy had many days before you without laughter.
