We made it to Sam's country. We arrived very tired after 19 hours of travel with very little sleep. We tried to sleep, but on our 7 1/2 hour flight we were stuck in the middle two seats of a 4 seat row. Mike had NO leg room and it was pretty miserable. On the upside, we both got to watch a couple of movies, so the time went a little faster.
We are staying at a nice hotel that only has 13 rooms. We are the first Americans to stay there and no one speaks english. Breakfast(free in the hotel) was interesting. We had a plate with 4 different cold cuts, slices of tomato and cucumber, cold peas, toast, cheese, & peach yogurt. It was good and filling, just not what we would typically eat.
The city here is beautiful. We had our new friend, Boris, give us a tour. He spent 5 hours driving us around the city. Many beautiful cathedrals, parks, & a lot of statues. I will post a few pictures later.
Funny thing, I don't really speak a second language, but where we live, there are many who speak spanish, so I have picked up a few words. I guess that is my "default" foreign language, as yesterday when I was thanking Boris, I said "gracias". LOL What is even funnier is that he responded "da nada".
Tomorrow we will meet Sam. We are so excited, I do not know if I will be able to sleep tonight. Pictures will be coming soon.

The things we do for love!
ReplyDeleteSo thankful you are there and seeing new parts of this world...Sunday night at small group, Mr. Sab quoted someone about how the universe should be our prayer room...
It struck me as a grand idea, no matter where you are or what you are doing, our Lord is so close to talk to.
So excited for you and what our Papa is doing, can't wait to see photos.
so glad you made it! excited for you. hope you get some much needed sleep.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Your post came through normal size too so no issues with font size when I read it!) Glory to God. Can't wait to hear about your meeting with him!

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to more!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some sleep tonight! It will probably be hard with all the excitement of meeting Sam tomorrow. Sounds like you are having a great time in the city. I can't wait to meet Boris and I can't wait for little Sam to meet his family! It makes me so sad that Sam will be the first one to ever be adopted from his institution. You guys will be opening the doors to so many!!!
ReplyDeleteSo very excited for you, and admittedly 'reliving' our journey through YOU!! I had to smile when I read about your b-fast experience cause we felt the same way, but quickly grew to enjoy the variety and have incorporated it into our routine back home. You're in our prayers!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it there safely! So excited that you finally get to hold your son! Soak up every minute!!!
ReplyDeletelove, love, love Boris he is the best I bet you had so much fun with him.Tell him Mike and Katrina said hi. Can't wait to see your post about meeting Sam so exciting.
